Announcement of strict measures against pollution in Delhi: Schools and colleges will be closed till new order, no entry to trucks, new construction will also be stopped.

  • All plants except 5 thermal plants will be closed till November 30
In view of the serious state of pollution, a notification has been issued in Delhi-NCR stating that schools and colleges will remain closed till a new order is issued. There will be online study on Wednesday (from today). The decision was taken at a meeting of the CAQM (Commission for Air Quality Management) on Tuesday night.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            CAQM said at least 50% of officers should get work-from-home approval. Similar arrangements should be made in private offices. All trucks will be banned from entering Delhi till November 21. Apart from this, all construction works except Metro, Raksha, Airport will be closed till November 21.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                The CAQM held a meeting with Delhi and its neighboring states after the Supreme Court turned a blind eye to the pollution, in which it announced the measures. The meeting was attended by officials from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. This responsibility has been assigned to the Chief Secretary of NCR.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             “Delhi’s AQI in bad shape” 
On Tuesday, Delhi’s AQI (Air Quality Index) was in a critical range. The 24-hour average air quality was 403, which was 379 this morning.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            According to the new order, only gas-powered industries will be able to run. Unauthorized fuel-fired industries will be shut down. Wherever possible, industries should be shifted to gas. Strict action will be taken against those who do not follow the rules.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Only 5 of the 11 thermal plants within a 300 km radius of the capital Delhi will be able to run. The remaining thermal plants will be shut down until November 30.
